Throughout history God has been calling sinful men and women into relationship with Himself.  In the New Testament era, this relationship is lived out in the church, which scripture calls a “body” or the “bride of Christ.”
In the church God intends to grow his people and save sinners which means that all Christians are to join themselves as committed members to a specific local church.  The church is therefor also not a place where everyone is perfect and without sin, since no one is good, not even one.
Rather the church is a place where we believe God wants Christians to grow in relationship with Him and one another, while living out our faith through love, service, and a heart for making Jesus known.
